Doug Meier graduated in the top 4% of his law school class at the University of Denver College of Law in 1989. At graduation he was awarded the Faculty Prize for achieving the highest scholastic average in his division. This prestigious award is only presented to one University of Denver College of Law student each year. He was a member of the Denver University Law Review and received several American Jurisprudence Awards for earning the highest grade point in selected courses. He was the first person in over 20 years to receive a perfect score of 100 in his contracts class.

After graduating from the University of Denver College of Law, he went to work for a federal judge and then one of the largest law firms in the United States. In 1996 he co-founded Meier & Giovanini where he is currently the managing partner. He specializes in insurance bad faith, legal malpractice and personal injury. Doug is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Jefferson County Bar, and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He enjoys getting to know his clients and remains friends with many long after their cases are completed.

Doug did his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College in Illinois, graduating in 1980 with High Honors and a B.A. in Biblical Studies. While at Wheaton College he directed a skid row rehabilitation program and a student tutoring program in Chicago.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Doug worked in Bangladesh and Thailand with a relief and development organization and in Somalia with the United Nations. He also worked as an insurance adjuster for the largest insurance company in the United States, which gives him special insight into the insurance claims process.

Kristin Giovanini graduated from the University of Denver in 1989 with dual graduate degrees in Law and Business Administration. She was awarded membership in the Order of St. Ives for outstanding academic achievement in the study of law. Following law school, Kristin worked as a briefing attorney in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Texas. She eventually returned to Denver where she worked for the State of Colorado and then co-founded Meier & Giovanini in 1996.

Kristin is currently on extended leave handling the tasks of having a young son at home.
